Proving Biosignatures

Collectively, Timothy Rubio, Stella Brown, Catie Bryant, and I authored a media narrative of biological encounters that can be interpreted as proof equivalence to one of the NASA Life Detection paradigms for exoplanets from The Limits of Organic Life in Planetary Systems

NASA’s Definition of Life

Our Central Question

Design Feasibility

We decided to use Creative Commons Media due to its accessibility and its usage laws. We were really interested in remixing what already existed to get interesting effects from Max 8.

NASA Life Detection Paradigm

Our creative media-based bionarrative is equivalent to the highlighted NASA Life Detection Paradigm in that things are constantly evolving. If life is defined as a self-sustaining chemical system capable of Darwinian paradigm, who is to say that our entire Earth isn’t living as it constantly evolves with the natural changes as well as the rapidity and severity of those changes triggered by human impact. Just as evolution and natural selection significantly have change human life throughout time, Earth itself has been changing and adapting to the lives upon it.
